3.1 Winds of Change

Welcome back to the next installment of Pollination, the first chapter of Generation 3 and the one that almost didn't happen. I went through so many game crashes that it took me roughly 8 hours real time to get through 2 sim days. It was rough. But enough of that, on with the fun part!

Today we start with Comet making friends with the strays. Or trying to. That cat's face seems to be saying, 'are you TRYING to get scratched in the face?'

Besides making 'friends,' Comet has also started sniffing out collectables. She's found a gem or hunk of metal or two, but mostly her conquests have been feathers and snake skins. XD

Six has been working on his logic skill, for lack of anything else to do. Plus it goes toward his job performance, so why not. He searches the galaxy for new, 'undiscovered' stars and names them after his wife and children.

Aquila is churning out paintings to work on her skill and her job performance while she waits for Bellatrix and Scorpius to hit YA stage. Except I keep liking them and keeping them instead of selling. I like to pretend that this one is Bella at model photo shoot or something. XD

Smug Cassi and Comet are Smug.

They were actually on their way to the tub, as Comet started getting a bit grungy. Scrub-a-dub-dub, there's a puppy in the tub!

Just Comet, looking precious. <3

And ghostie Seven, enjoying some quality television. <3!!

It's at this point that EVERYBODY decided to age up all at once, so get ready for some spare spam.

Angelina became an elder. And promptly divorced Orion, moved out and took the kids with her. XD He waffles between paying child support and getting carted off to jail for NOT paying child support.

Starla also became an elder, and ALSO promptly divorced Antares not long after. Way to thumb your nose at my storyline, guys. -_-

Sheratan . . .

And his twin sister Spica became young adults. She began dating a townie by the name of Wylie Luck and is, as of press time, engaged to him. Sheratan is too busy buying up all the businesses in town to date, apparently.

Virgo also became a young adult. She's been dating around with a couple of guys, but nothing serious yet.

Of course, all those birthdays mean it's (finally) time for Bellatrix to have her birthday as well. She and Scorpius are awoken bright and early that morning . . .

With a friendly wake-up visit from Grandpa Seven.

Readers of my 100 Baby Challenge will get the hilarity of this picture . . . teenage boys will be teenage boys . . . And the fact that he just got out of the shower . . . *dies*

Cassiopeia takes Comet out for a brisk walk to the beach.

Our new maid came in the house, took one look at Six and promptly started screaming like a little girl, running out again.

And then commenced to doing that six or seven times in a row before it was 'time for him to go.'. I forsee a possible problem here . . . >_<

Nevertheless, after Bellatrix came home from school that day it was party time! And I actually 'threw' a party too, inviting all the family because I like to torture myself. Antares and Starla were some of the first to arrive. They're still married here, but get divorced not long after the party.

The birthday girl steps up to the cake, basking in the attention.

Big sister Andromeda cheers her on.

As well as this side of the peanut gallery.

Sheratan is excited.

Meanwhile there's still a huge traffic jam. Probably because Starla refuses to get out of the doorway? >_<

They eventually got it all sorted out, though. Just in time to watch birthday girl grow up! The only person who didn't turn out was Angelina, whom I assume had to stay home with toddler Deneb.

And I give you . . . your heir for Generation 3!! Please, flash photography at a minimum. ^_^ I gave her Star Quality as her last trait, since the Actress career requires her to be at a certain level of Celebrity. Her hair and outfit will probably change at some point as I'm not entirely happy with it, but after two crashes while trying to make her over in CAS I just went with the first best thing that came along . . . .

Which leads us to THIS! Introducing the new Pollination Legacy House. I decided part of my problem might be the fact that I was operating on a huge, mostly empty 64x64 lot. I know the Legacy rules call for that, but I'll never build a house that huge, let alone play one. So I moved them to an empty 40x40 and built them a new house.

I kinda cheated, in that I used a floor plan I found online. Other than that, it's 100% Lynnie. I'm pretty proud of it too (as it took me all day to build) so we're gonna go on a virtual tour!

First, the one-car garage. Exciting stuff. It also has the staircase leading down to the basement mausoleum. You'll also notice the lack of motive mobile. I spaced out and forgot to save it, as well as the uuber fridge. :( Oh wells.

As seen here! Looks a lot nicer than the last one, in my humble opinion.

A shot from the other side, so you can see the spares wall.

This is one of the bedrooms, currently serving Scorpius and Aquila until they can move out.

Another bedroom, currently serving as Cassi and Six's.

The nursery. Soon to be filled with generation 4 babies. :D

Bathroom number one, with a more feminine feel.

Bathroom number two, with a more masculine feel.

A Family/Study/Hobby room with fireplace for relaxing. I forgot to put decor up in this room so it's kinda plain now, but you'll see it get spruced up eventually.

The kitchen.

The dining room.

The living room.

A shot of the back porch with the grill.

And now for the best part - the Master Bedroom Suite. Very swanky, as befitting our Diva-licious heir. A shot from the bed, looking toward the sitting area (I so wish I had something like this in my house. Wouldn't it be so awesome to sit there and watch a good thunderstorm?)

And a shot from the sitting area looking back in the other direction. The bed's up on a platform because . . . why not, right?

A little alcove leading into the master bath, with a vanity dresser on one side and a full-length wall mirror on the other.

Aaaand this is the master bathroom, one of my favorite parts of the house. A double sink, the toilet in it's own glass bubble, a shower AND a bathtub.

From the other side.

And here's an overhead view, so you can kind've get an idea as to how it's all layed out.

I even bought Bellatrix this (Fresh Prince CC) BMW, and even after filling the house with the most expensive stuff they still have 30k in family funds, so not bad. Of course, they started with 260k . . . our heiress is now on her way to secure a job in the Film Career.

Aquila is fiddling with the auto feeder in the utility room (between the garage and the house). Since I don't feel like messing with laundry, it's become Comet's own little room. And that auto feeder eventually gets replaced with a regular food bowl because for some reason it wouldn't fill. <_<

Six decides to test out the athletic equipment, even though he's maxed on his athletic skill. Still he'll get the pumped moodlet so why not.

Cassi gets sent to the kitchen to make some breakfast as everyone is starving.

CASSI - No longer the heir and all of a sudden I've become the food-slave. >:(

Aww, dun be that way. I still wuv you!

Antares decided it was time for him to become an elder. Looks JUST like Bart . . .

Deneb also became a child. He's also looking suspiciously similar to great-grandpa Bart . . .

What's our heiress up to? Why, reveling in her own awesomeness of course. ^_^ Working on her charisma skill too.

Aquila does me proud and gets Bella's portrait right on the very first try.

She takes her place in the family mausoleum.

Comet in her own little room, which I spruced up a bit with a colorful rug. It might seem mean to shut her away, but this is actually a blessing to this dog. She has the Quiet trait, which means she HATES anything that makes noise. The TV, the radio, Scorpius on his guitar . . . it's nice for her to be able to get away from everybody else and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Oh look, we have an otherworldy visitor already!

SEVEN - This . . . doesn't look like my house?

He found his barings eventually, and settled down in a comfy chair to enjoy his book.

The next day Bellatrix was off for her first day of work as an Extra. And apparently they're filming Annie, since she looks like some sort of barefoot street urchin . . .

But meanwhile, somewhere in town . . . .

MYSTERY 1 - Oh no . . . this doesn't look like Lunar Lakes. I think we're lost. Again.

MYSTERY 2 - Really? . . . oh well. I guess that just means more adventure for us! I wonder what kind of fun we can get up to on THIS planet?!

What indeed? We'll have to wait til next chapter to see! Thanks for reading, see ya next time!
